Magic Taylor’d for You
Indianapolis-based magician, Taylor Martin brings a vintage charm to his magic shows, combining theatrical storytelling with classic illusions. Martin is popular for his fantastical characters — including Rodney the Younger, Rodney the Elder, and Madame Esmarelda — that have been posted under the title “There’s a Story to be Told." on Facebook. Someone once noted the snippets of Martin's life are like “Tasty Bits,” which provided a sublime title for his 2019 Indy Fringe Show. With history as a singing telegram, and all the interesting and famous people (ask about his friendship with Penn & Teller) he has met, the stories never end. And you don't want them to.
Martin has performed and produced in nearly every IndyFringe, he performed illusions, such as his 100-year-old magic box. If you're lucky, you also get the story of how he now has a 100-year-old magic box.*
In Jan 2012, Martin was awarded a Presidential Citation from The Society Of American Magicians (Vinny Grasso, President of the S.A.M.) for "keeping magic in the eye of Indianapolis, through his creation of Indy Magic Monthly and The Indy Fringe Winter Magic Festival." In 2013, Martin was the guest host for (WTTW) PBS's The Art of the Matter ( Episode 111 - April 30, 2013, Season 1 Episode 11 | 28m 1s ) showcasing "art that is not what it seems" with a healthy dose of magic.
